Sunday School News
It is Autumn, one of the most beautiful times of the years. You can see it, smell it, touch it, and feel it. The perfect season to go for a walk. Who would you most enjoy walking with? Three of our adult classes have been studying Creation from the book of Genesis. Here we are told of the wonderful walks Adam and Eve had with God. Ever since Genesis 3, God has been working to get each of us to walk with Him. In September a group of our teachers attended the Steeling the Mind Conference in Denver. We had great fun. What we heard over and over was how to strengthen our walk with our Savior. And then, how important it is to invite others to join us in The Way. We studied prophecy, apologetics, Bible study methods, and current events. What they were all saying is the Harvest is great and we are the workers. Sunday School can be an ideal place to equip workers. Here you find prayer partners, visiting partners, share testimonies, and receive encouragement. It is a good place to invite others to join.
We are entering the season of thanksgiving; our veterans, our freedoms, and our bounty (material and spiritual). First Thessalonians 5:18 tells us, "In every thing give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." So we can be thankful in every season, no matter what the ups and downs are; for we know God is working a plan. He is in control.
We can be thankful for a little extra sleep on the first of November. The first Sunday in November, we go off daylight savings time. Every one should be on time for Sunday School.
Please mark your calendars for the Christmas Card Party: Saturday, December 5, at 2pm. I'm hoping by having the party early in the afternoon more of you will be able to attend. Do plan to join us for an opportunity to share Christ, the real reason for the season, with prisoners who are so open and hungry to hear about Jesus.
