In the spring, starting in May and through the first of June, different members in our families and friends graduate. Some are finishing high school and others their studies in college, thus completing a very important chapter in their young lives. This is a time when parents and families reflect back and wonder, hope, and pray they taught, nurtured, and did all they could in preparation. Is our little one, who has gotten so big, ready for the next chapter in his/her life? Has a strong foundation been laid? Do they know their help comes from the Lord, who made Heaven and earth, Psalm 121:2? The Lord is their strength and shield, Psalm 28:7. The Lord is their strength, song, and salvation, Psalm 118:14. That they know in their hearts the God of the Universe has good plans for them, a hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11.
Hopefully this has caused you to think about the foundation you are trying to give your little one. Sunday School can help you in this process. Not only for your child but for you. Where ever you are in your Spiritual journey, we have a class for you.
The third Sunday in June, we honor our fathers, the head of the family. God instituted the family and its structure. Repeatedly in Scripture He refers to Himself as our Father and we, through Christ Jesus, are His children. In Scripture, He is given the characteristics of a father: protecting, providing, nurturing, teaching, disciplining, and loving. I pray as each of you plan your family activities, dads will be mindful that their father-child relationship helps their children in developing a relationship with their Heavenly Father. A responsibility not to be taken lightly.
Saturday the 18th, our Ladies' SS class will enjoy the movie "Mom's Night Out." All our ladies are invited. If you have ever questioned your sufficiency as a wife and mother and want a good laugh, join us! We will be at Margie McDonald's home at 640 CrownRidge Dr. June 18, at 1:30pm.
Happy 4th of July! As Americans we celebrate our freedom this month; as Christians we celebrate our Freedom every day. Freedom in Christ Jesus frees us from sin, the power of sin, feelings of hopelessness, and death, giving us a new life; an eternal life with Him and a more abundant life here. If any of these ideas or liberties are new to you or your would like to know more about TRUE freedom, join us in Sunday School each Sunday morning at 9:15.

Love In Christ,
