Happy New Year! I pray each of you are richly blessed this year. This should be an interesting year. We have a new and different type of president moving into the White House. We need to be in prayer for this president and our nation. The hurt that has been done by our present administration to Israel is shameful and frightening; Gen 12:1-3. I suggest praying for President Trump’s salvation and that born-again believers continue to find their voices.
I also believe this year will be a year of blessings for our Church. I believe that we will continue to grow spiritually and in number. Which will open up more opportunities to serve. The Lord has given each of us gifts and talents. Are you using yours for the Kingdom? Look around and find a place to serve. You will grow spiritually and your fellowship will become sweeter.
In February, our thoughts turn to love. In Sunday School we will be studying the book of Ruth, one of the greatest love stories ever recorded. We find love throughout the Bible; from creation to redemption. Jesus even summarized all the law and the prophets in two statements of love; “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with thy soul, and with all thy mind, and love thy neighbor as thyself,” Matt. 22:37-40. We talk, read and sing about how much God loves us. Have you ever really stopped to think about how much you love God? Have you ever tried to quantify your love? Do you love Him enough to truly study His Word, diligently apply His Word in your daily walk, enough to share His love with others, enough to work in His service? First John 4:8-10, is a beautiful love message from Him to you. What is your message back?
I love St. Patrick’s Day. I really do have Irish ancestors. But I so admire St. Patrick. He dedicated his life to bring freedom in Christ to a people who had once held him as a slave. It is estimated that he established 300 churches in Ireland during a 30 year period. Now that is dedication to the Lord’s work. What have you been doing for the Lord? This could be the year, the month when you truly dedicate yourself to Him and the Kingdom’s work.
Please be sure to remember, Day Light Savings begins Sunday, March the 12th. I don’t want anyone late for Sunday School. The Spring quarter beginning in March, we will be returning to the New Testament and complete our study of the Gospel of Matthew.
If you have questions about any of our Sunday School classes please feel free to contact me.
Love In Christ,
